Diretide-Roshan

In the spirit of Halloween, Valve has patched the DoTA 2 client to start the first seasonal event with Diretide, which will run up to November 12.

A new game mode called Diretide is now available in the DoTA 2 menu, and it consists of three game phases. In the first phase, the gameplay is still the same but the towers are invincible. Also, there will be candy baskets for each team in place of the Ancient Creeps. Creeps and enemy heroes drops candies in which players must collect them and drop in their respective baskets. Candies can also be stolen from the enemy team's basket.

The second phase gets much harder as an invisible Roshan goes on a hunting spree, targeting single heroes. The Diretide Roshan can only be stopped or slowed down by feeding him with candies. Both phases has a 10-minute gameplay time.

The third phase will commence after the winning team is decided; as the game will spawn a Roshan with 150,000 hit points. Both teams will then try to kill him, after which he drops items.

Also included in the patch is the Halloween-themed map which temporarily replaces the standard one; a Halloween egg can be hatched which spawns a courier with custom colors.
