Nerchio

In a mostly European Starcraft 2 event, which also saw 64 players vying for the US$10,400 top prize and a direct seed to DreamHack Winter, Nerchio overcame all odds to win his second major tournament for the year.

Unfortunately, big SC2 names were not able to attend DH Bucharest, as NaNiwa, Stephano, TOP, InCa, Ret and Xlord all canceled their appearances. Ret was moving to a different house, while NaNiwa's excuse remains undisclosed. Xlord had a valid reason not to show up because he got sick; while all the apeX eSports players were unable to attend because of management problems.

The missing eSports superstars did not hamper DH Bucharest's momentum as the SC2 event generated surprising results. Early favorites Protosser and NightEND ended up losing early but the elimination of the Korean Powerhouse TheSTC and Rain in RO16 is most unexpected. MaNa and StarNaN meanwhile gave the audience a great show with their magnificent run. But in the end, the Acer team came out in top with players' Nerchio and Bly placing 1st and 2nd, respectively.
