Aitor “SOKER” Fernandez has now joined ASES eSports Club, the Spanish team that was a big surprise in DreamHack Valencia.
ASES managed to hold the eventual runner-up VeryGames to a 15-15 draw in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive at DreamHack Valencia but were unable to progress to the last four stage. While ASES managed to win the Spanish qualifiers for the EMS, the team needed a player that will be a big asset to them in the upcoming tournaments---and they recruited Fernandez. The new ASES member was from the 91ers and a veteran of CS: Source, just like the rest of his former team.
Fernandez will replace Pol “ocalove” Sancho, who was unfortunately given his walking papers.
Next up for Fernandez and the ASES will be the EMS round 2 qualifiers and in their roster are:
Antonio “CristOfer” Macarro
Xavi “Aguila” Casals
Ruben “torpe” Gomez
Nicolas “GhosT” Milyayev
Aitor “SOKER” Fernández
Xavi “Aguila” Casals told Arenazero.net:
“After DreamHack Valencia, we saw that we had the quality to try to do something in Europe, but we were missing something,”
“The departure of “ocalove” is solely based on individual performances. It is a tough decision because it was my idea and he is a friend, both inside and outside the game.”
“With the arrival of “SOKER”, we hope that he will bring that extra bit for us to be a stronger team and to consolidate ourselves in Europe.”
