One of the biggest news in competitive Starcraft 2 was just broke open by Cadred; it seems that the premier eSports organization SlayerS is now in the process of being dismantled.

Citing their disastrous 2012 outing and accusations of embezzlement, sabotage and players jumping ship to join foreign teams are one the main reasons why SlayerS is being disbanded. Controversial team manager Kim “Jessica” Ga-yeon’s seemingly unstable emotional impulses is also being talked about, as well as conflicts between the team and the eSports Federation. Because of this development, the GSTL matchup against MVP will be the last outing of the SlayerS on November 3. After that, only the SlayerS’ legacy will remain.

Premier Terran player MMA’s demotion to the B-team signaled his exit, as he has announced that he is leaving the team for either Evil Geniuses or Axiom. The other outstanding Terran Ryung, has accepted the offer of the Axiom team, which will reunite him with former SlayerS CranK. Axiom is the brainchild of John “Totalbiscuit” Bain with the help of Gemma Bain.

Incidentally, Gemma Bain released this statement:

“While Ryung and MMA are both still under contract, Slayers did give their departing players 30 days, prior to the end of their agreement, to seek out new opportunities. I have no doubts that these players have been speaking to several teams already. MMA and Ryung are great friends with CranK, but Axiom will be a small and selective team.”

As for the rest of the team, most of them are switching teams, switching games or just plain retiring. League of Legends is one of the beneficiaries as Puzzle, CoCa and Min have transitioned to that game. MLG Spring winner Alicia himself is now being courted by different teams but there are no decisions yet for the Protoss extraordinaire. BoxeR on the other hand had earlier retired then joined the SK Telecom T1, the first team he created.
