Ryoo "SeleCT" Kyung Hyun of Team Dignitas announced recently that he is retiring from competitive Starcraft 2. Instead, he will join the ranks of professional gamers currently engaging in arena battles in Valve's DoTA 2.

Why the change? Apparently SeleCT came to this decision after realizing that his age and him not being in a Korean team house has held him back from being the best SC2 player that he can be. This comes after performing well for years in both offline and online SC2 tournaments.

SeleCT reflected:

"Recently, I feel that I am too old to play RTS games anymore as you get slower as you get older. Also so many young people who are fast are trying harder than me and practicing very systematically in their team house in Korea. I feel that it is very hard for me to catch up without living and practicing in Korea. So I have decided to quit sc2 and move on to some other."

Incidentally, SeleCT's switch to DoTA 2 happened the very same the day Kim "sC" Seung Chul decided to abandon SC2 to join the summoners of League of Legends. SeleCT is saying totally goodbye to the SC2 competitive scene, he has expressed interest of becoming a pundit or translator---probably as long as the schedule does not conflict with his new DoTA 2 career.
