Tired of the same boring maps in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and want more "new" maps? Well the creator of de_tuscan has revealed that the popular map will be ready in about a few weeks.
Colin "Brute" Volrath, who also brought de_forge and de_russka to life, anticipates that the map will be made available in time for DreamHack Winter, but warned his followers that it may be slightly different than the older versions.
"It is coming along very well," he told Vakarm.net. "I'm really putting in the hours this past month and the remainder of October to get this map completed.
"The map needs to be adjusted and changed based on the environmental play of CS:GO. The physical layout of the map is not going to change much, if anything, however.
"But the actual look and feel of the map is going to change, it needs to look more open and take full advantage of the Source engine's awesome power, that the old 1.6 engine just was not able to handle.
"As for game-play I have not really received much negative feedback on what anyone likes or dislikes with this map, so the map is going to stay the same gameplay-wise unless something changes in the next two weeks from the community."
The new map will be a boon to the burgeoning CS:GO community as de_tuscan is one of the maps which is favorable competitively. According to Volrath however, de_mirage should never be used in tournaments. What do you think guys?
