As one of the last Counter-Strike 1.6 tournaments around, the first day of the competition produced expected results---with Fnatic and Anexis topping the field entering the playoffs.

Down to only eight teams, the Danish super teams topped their group stage, with HEADSHOTBG and iNation grabbing the other slots after performing well in the group stage. The Brazilian team Gamerhouse had to go through the eye of the needle against I Got Game and BGDonLINE, before prevailing against both teams 16-11 and 16-10 respectively to top group C. IGG grabbed the second spot after beating the Serbians in de_inferno 16-7.

Meanwhile, vehicular problems forced three of the five players of iNNERFiRE to seek help with stand-ins, which drove them down to second place in group D. neXtPlease! fragged both their matches to top the last group.
