The Swedish Championships, also known as E-Sport SM in Sweden, is set to leave behind CS 1.6 and will return for the 2012-2013 with Counter-Strike:Global Offensive in tow.
Most of you are probably sick and tired of CS 1.6 and CS:GO news but the transition of gamers and major tournaments to the newest Counter-Strike game is one hot topic. And the organizers of E-Sport SM have decided to help in breaking CS 1.6's fourteen-year-old back by transitioning to Global Offensive.
The season format will be the same as previous years, eight teams will qualify for the season finals. There will be online qualifiers for previous seasons teams, same as last time, and those who make it will qualify for the offline finals.
The Swedish Championships will start in the fall and conclude at DreamHack Summer 2013.
