Yesterday, this reporter finally got a taste of Valve’s latest offering: Counter-Strike: Global Offensive. For three short matches, and with bots scoring higher than me, I finally felt like a pro-gamer. And with practically every professional team transitioning their old CS squads to finally tackle GO, the Danes officially formed HastaLaVista---their first GO team.
Composed of several well-known personalities, including two players that won in Assembly Summer and members of the old MoD eSports team, HastaLaVista looks to make a noise in the burgeoning Global Offensive scene. Veteran CS:S player Casper “Ruggah” Due is included in the roster, though he has been inactive from the pro-gaming scene since Speedgaming’s CS:S team folded.
HastaLaVista's roster:
Malte "Herden" Boelt
Casper "ruggah" Due
Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen
Nichlas "Nille" Busk
Jacob "Pimp" Winneche
HastaLaVista released this statement on Gaming.dk:
“We're proud to announce a new era of team HastaLaVista. Since the recent development of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, we've decided to give it a 'go'. With a core of 5 former Counter-Strike: Source players we feel competent that the team contains enough talent and dedication to make an impact against the best teams out there. We aim to do our best and show the scene, that we aren’t empty words. If everything works out financially, we will aim to qualify for the upcoming ESWC- and DreamHack tournaments, a goal we believe is achievable with the right amount of team play and luck. Look out for us; we will be here for quite a while! We will be looking for a home and if you are interested in signing or contacting us, feel free to write an e-mail to casdueh@gmail.com. Cheers!”
