Counter-Strike 1.6 tournaments are still being held and one of the major ones will be this year’s Asus Summer Cup wherein sixteen teams will vie for a share of the €1,150 total prize and two spots for the FINAL BATTLE OF THE YEAR.
From the original 300 plus teams that signed up, single elimination rounds whittled the field to 16 that have proven their mettle in CS 1.6. Among them are the original members of the elite CS team of Moscow 5, which have been split into two to represent different teams. We don’t know for sure if ASUS will hold a CS 1.6 tournament next year as Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is garnering momentum and is being picked up by prestigious tournaments like DreamHack. Suffice it to say that the ASUS Summer Cup 2012 will be a battleground of Europe’s finest in CS 1.6, and fans should not miss the action.
