NCSoft, publisher of the current hit Guild Wars 2, revealed that during the MMO’s three-day headstart, a staggering amount of players trooped to the land of Tyria. The peak reached 400,000 concurrent users---a veritable army of virtual soldiers.

Leading up to the game-day launch, NCSoft has also said they sold about 1 million copies of the MMO, a certified hit to the PC Gaming community. It seems Guild Wars 2 has already lived up to its hype and aggressive promotion, and if the number of players online steadily increases, it will be able to match or even surpass most free-to-play MMO variants out there. And if you’re burned-out by all the CS:GO, BF3, Diablo 3, MW1234567 whatever games, you should definitely check this title out.

Guild Wars 2 PVP also has the potential to become a viable e-sport competition if major tournament organizers pick it up. For now, let’s see if the game can sustain its explosive start.
