Team laQs is no stranger to winning tournaments, having won many including the 2008 Asus World Game Masters Tournament Manila Leg. Yesterday, they added to their list the 1^st leg of the Gainward Nvidia Counter-Strike 1.6 by beating MSIevoGT in the finals 16-3 in de_inferno map.

Held in SM Megamall's Cyberzone at Lenovo-Villman's gaming/cyber cafe, laQs bested 10 other teams to rule the day, which is the first of three legs. Syndicate grabbed the third place by beating Legends in a close 16-8 score in the de_nuke map. The top four teams are now qualified for the grand finals that will be held on August 19.

CM Storm FG meanwhile held two bonus matches with CTU and Ask---picked by raffle---to determine the fifth and last finalists. Ask won the finals slot not by beating CM Storm FG, but by having a higher score than what CTU got against FG---16-7 and 16-3 respectively.
