Gainward: nVidia Counter-Strike 1.6 is announced

Gainward Philippines, one of the leading nVidia graphics card vendors in the country, is proud to announce the month long gaming event---The Gainward: nVidia Counter-Strike 1.6 LAN Tournament.

With the support of Adx Arena, Rig Builders Alliance and coverage provided by the Cyberathlete Professional League, the Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament will have its first three legs at Villman/Lenovo, 4th floor Cyberzone, Building B SM Megamall, Mandaluyong Philippines on July 28, July 29 and August 4. The venue for the finals will then shift to SM Cyberzone, North Edsa, Quezon City, Philippines on August 18.

The CS 1.6 tournament will be a massive undertaking, as every leg there will be up to 16 teams battling it out for the top prizes and spots for the finals. The top 4 teams of the first three legs will advance to the finals, which will have even more goodies for the top 3.

Prize breakdown for the Gainward: nVidia Counter-Strike 1.6

Qualifiers ( First 3 legs)

  • 1st Place: PHP 5.000.00 + merchandise from sponsors
  • 2nd Place: PHP 3,000.00 + merchandise from1 sponsors
  • 3rd Place: PHP 1,000.00 + merchandise from sponsors

Finals (August 18)

  • 1st Place: PHP 15,000.00 + Gainward VGA card
  • 2nd Place: PHP 8,000.00 + Gainward VGA card
  • 3rd Place: PHP 4,000.00 + merchandise from sponsors

To make things more interesting, every week the top Filipino CS 1.6 team Coolermaster Storm FG, will have two matches with the losing teams, and those two teams will be picked through raffle. If they get to beat FG, they will qualify for the finals at SM Cyberzone, North Edsa.

The Gainward: nVidia Counter-Strike 1.6 tournament is free and open to all, and if interested, submit an email to renier.adcentrix@ymail.com containing your Team Name, Team Captain and Team Players. Do note that each team is limited to 5 members.

Update: The start of the tournament has been moved to July 28 to accommodate more teams. Also, the maximum number of teams has been reduced to 16 per leg.
