ProDota 2 officially announced the creation of a World Wide League, featuring some of the top teams from America, Europe, and Asia. 19 Dota 2 teams from their respective regions have already accepted the invites, and the remaining slots will be filled up by more invitations. For a total of US$30,000 in cash prizes plus some gaming hardware, the remaining slots will be filled quickly.

 

The league's initial stage will be held by regions, and there will also be a professional and amateur divisions. $20,000 will go to the pros, while the amateur division will have a chance to partake the cool US$10,000.

Regional teams will play each other twice, with a “home” and “away.” The playoffs will start when the top two teams from America, top three from Europe, and top three from Asia emerges. Initial matches have already been set, with Darer versus Western Wolves and Dignitas versus Epidemic on April 13. Matches will be best of 1 in the first round, the final round will feature a best of three.

 

Philippines' Mineski and China's DK have already been invited by Prodota2 to fill up the remaing two slots for Asia, although nothing is certain yet. The last remaining American slot will be decided in an open qualifier, for more details please click here.
